Wild Turkeys at Sap Brook

Wild turkies cross Sap Brook, Devil's Den, Weston CTTurkey Day all over again at the Den. The first flock had churned up the leaf litter on the Saugatuck Trail with their foraging. They moved off as I approached, mostly slowly, but one or two briefly flapped a few feet into the air.  Their trotting gait brought to mind a herd of mini-dinosaurs. The birds in the picture were part of a flock (maybe the same flock) crossing the Sap Brook. I guess they don’t like wet feet, because they took off to make the short journey.
